Mary Magdalene Essay Example for Free
Mary Magdalene Essay Do you know who i am? are you not attracted to my beauty? Many lovers have come and gone through my life. but a lot of people hate me. They say i am an adulterous woman. They say i have seven demons in my body. I hate this kind of life, you know. Nobody really loves me, and the burden of my sin is heavy upon me. I am Mary of Magdala. Just call me Mary Magdalene. I am in search of true love and acceptance. But who will ever love a sinner such as I? (walks sideways and to the center of the stage) Jesus I heard that a certain jesus has come to our town. He was healing the sick ones, and calling the sinners to repentance. Who is this man that He would even proclaim forgiveness for the sins of many? I must see Jesus! He must have answers to my questions! One day, a Pharisee named Simon hosted a feast and Jesus was one of the invited guests. I will not miss the chance to meet Jesus. I will prepare myself for the feast. (Mary removes the beads on her head, wears a veil and got ready with an alabaster flask of perfume) With this alabaster flask of perfume, I will annoint Jesus feet. (Many tries to see from afar the crowd at Simons place) Oh! There is a big crowd in Simons house. How could I possibly get inside? Oh, Ill wait until Jesus enters. By then, the crowd at the gate wil be ushered in. There is Jesus sitting near the host Simon. I tried to inch my way through the crowd until I finally knelt down at His feet. I wasted no time to pour the ointment on His feet and I wipe His feet with my hair. Then with a gentle voice he said to me, Woman, your sins are forgiven, your faith has saved you, go in peace. My heart rejoiced as I went away. The burden of my sins rolled away. Now Im free to obey Him. The next time I saw Jesus, He was haning on the cross, crucified between two thieves. My heart was crushed with grief. Who has done this crime? Who killed my Jesus? Can anybody tell me? Who killed Jesus? Was it the Hebrew children? A while ago, they were shouting: Crucify Hiim, (pause), crucify Him, crucify Him! Was it Pontius Pilate? he was the Governor who gave permission for His crucifixion. Was it the Roman soldiers? Torture of criminals is part of their profession. But Jesus wasnt a criminal! He was a sinless man. Who killed Jesus? Now its plain to see. It was really me! My sins! He died for my sins! Jesus, thank You for forgiving me at such a great price.

Methodology And Benefits Of Ecotel Hotels Tourism Essay
Methodology And Benefits Of Ecotel Hotels Tourism Essay ECOTELà ®? ECOTELà ® is an environmental certification that enables hotels to be truly green, socially responsible, and sustainable over the long term by involving the entire value chain of owners, architects, operators, employees, suppliers and hotel guests. What is the ECOTELà ® Methodology? The ECOTELà ® methodology evaluates a hotels systems, processes and practices for environment friendliness through a stringent assessment of its range, scope and results across five crucial parameters, known as The Five Globes. These are: Environment Commitment, Solid Waste Management, Energy Management, Water Management, and Employee Education and Community Involvement. To be certified as an ECOTEL, a hotel must score the minimum qualifying percentage on each of the globes. What are the benefits for ECOTELà ® Hotels? â⬠¢ Lower operating costs, greater profits through a focused effort on reducing waste generation and increasing operational efficiencies. â⬠¢ Enhanced visibility for members through the ECOTELà ® website who also gain access to the reservation engine and other marketing features. â⬠¢ Publicly recognized branding for hotels that may have/not have partnered with international chains. â⬠¢ Value for money, as the cost of certification is comparatively lower than others to enable hotels to truly benefit from the transfer of knowledge. HISTORY of ECOTEL ECOTELà ® was developed by HVS in association with the Rocky Mountain Institute, USA with the help of engineering and hospitality experts. Conceptualized in 1994 by HVS the worlds leading consulting and services organization focused on the hotel, restaurant, shared ownership, gaming, and leisure industries ECOTEL was a pioneering program specific to hospitalityWhy should you choose to be an ECOTELà ®? Rigorous standards used for the certification methodology that are regularly updated to keep current with scientific advances and international thinking. Specific to hospitality as ECOTELà ® is managed by HVS, a global consulting giant in hospitality. Recognition of hotelà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã specific green operations with hotels demonstrating substantial such evidence encouraged to seek certification, instead of just those who could build in the features. Broader in scope than other certifications as it enables a hotel to function responsibly while positively impacting the local community. Handholding throughout certification period, as clients are updated and assisted to improve their performance through consultation, training and identification of operational areas where they can improve efficiencies and cut back consumption. Spans the positioning spectrum, recognizing high levels of environment commitment and environmentà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã friendly operations in hotels irrespective of size, positioning, or profile. How to be an ECOTELà ®? Hotels seeking the ECOTELà ® Certification are assessed for their environmental readiness through a property walkthrough, which entails inspection of different departments and random interviews with hotel staff. As per their status, they are either awarded the specific certification or enabled through a customized blueprint to achieve a specific level. In case of the later, the hotel is finally audited after the intervention and awarded the certification The Five Globes The methodology for the ECOTEL Certification is centered upon the idea of the Five Globes or five areas of certification, which together encompass the processes, systems and practices that ensure an environmentally responsible hotel operation. An audit is undertaken in each of these globes based on an audit checklist. The audit checklist for each of the globes is very well researched and based on scientific and technological advances and international charters and treaties specific to saving the environment. Environment Commitment A hotel demonstrates its environmental commitment through wide ranging programs and best practices that minimise its impact on the environment throughout its value chain while lowering overall business costs. Solid Waste Management For the hospitality industry, the waste created by daily operations is an ongoing challenge. In addition to incurring the costs of waste disposal, hotels need to also allocate valuable back-of-the house space for waste to be stored and sorted. For hotels, a good waste management strategy results in greater operational efficiencies, keeping waste out of the landfill, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Energy Management Energy is among the fastest-growing cost items for the lodging industry worldwide. In India, it approximates 8-15% of a hotels gross revenue. While design and operating system-improvements provide the framework for conservation of resources, large energy savings and thereby economic efficiency results through the switch to low-cost, easy-to-implement alternatives and a regular maintenance schedule. Water Management The rampant overusing and wasting of water along with global warming has led to a water-scarcity challenge that has serious implications for the global community and economy. A good water management strategy includes conservation of water through Efficient technology and programs, recycling through measures like grey water treatment, as well as earth-friendly practices like ground water recharge and rainwater harvesting. Employee Education and Community Involvement Motivating employees to understand the need for a change to environment-friendly practices, believing in them, and adapting them is a necessity for environmental initiatives to be both successful and sustainable. A well-thought out and well-executed education and training effort enables this. ECOTEL hotels also raise eco-consciousness in the community through either awareness campaigns or practices that can be built into the community, thus truly facilitating a change for a better environment. The graphic on the right shows the ECOTEL logo represented by the Earth in the centre, surrounded by the five globes or areas of ECOTEL Certification. Together, these five globes encompass the processes, systems, and practices of environmentally responsible hotel operations. Thus, the image conveys that ECOTEL through its five globes is a Certification that cares for the WORLD. Certification Details The certification is valid for a period of one year only, after which members must reapply. It is applicable to hotels irrespective of a member hotels country of origin since it is designed specifically for recognizing environmentà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã friendly systems, operations, and practices in hospitality. The Process The Process for Certification is typically undertaken in three steps, which are: D:Z-ArenaSIMSR AssignmentsPOMECOTELFlowChart.gif Step One: Property Assessment: In an effort to understand the current standards observed by the hotel, an in-depth assessment of the property is conducted covering all the relevant areas of focus. The inspection includes: Interviews with the management and staff to comprehend the propertys commitment to environment. Physical inspection of the subject property including back-of-the-house areas to evaluate the systems employed for undertaking environment friendly operations. Collating data on consumption of various resources such as electricity, water, diesel, and chemicals among others to assess the processes for environment friendly operations. Interviews with the staff to assess their knowledge, attitude, and training levels to carry out environment friendly operations. This stage of the certification process culminates in generation of a Property Assessment Report that details the propertys baseline status as regards achieving minimum standards considered essential for an ECOTEL. Step Two: Roadmap for Certification:- If the hotel wishes to certify itself as an ECOTEL, our team prepares a detailed blueprint for the certification in conjunction with the hotels management team. This Roadmap for Certification includes mutually decided targets, technology, and training workshops that will enable the hotel to become an ECOTEL. The process is estimated to take upto 5-6 months and will include training initiatives, inclusion of best practices as part of the hotels standard operating procedures and the necessary capital infusion where required. Phase Three: Audit: A final audit of the property shall then be conducted and a certification awarded on its successful completion. Rating System: The hotel is rated on the parameters defined in our checklists covering the five globes. Our methodology rates every standard on a Likert scale, assigning weights to them based on their contribution. The checklists have a predefined minimum standard, Primary Criteria, which every participating hotel has to clear before being certified as an ECOTEL.

Analysis of My Last Duchess by Robert Browning :: Robert Browning, My Last Duchess
A dramatic monologue is a poem in which a single speaker who is not the poet recites the entire poem at a critical moment. The speaker has a listener within the poem, but the reader of the poem is also one of the speakers listeners. In a dramatic monologue, the reader learns about the speaker's character from what the speaker says. Robert Browning is said to have perfected this form of writing. One of his most famous dramatic monologues is "My Last Duchess." The speaker in the poem is an Italian duke who ordered the murder of his wife and is at the offset of the poem showing off the portrait to his future son-in-law. Browning lets the reader know in a roundabout way that the duke only shows the portrait of his late wife to select strangers. In doing this, the speaker is able to show off his wealth to the stranger and he seems to enjoy telling these people the story of how he ordered her to death. The speaker tries to convey to the people that he shows the portrait to that he is in control of everything that takes place in his household. In lines 8-9, the speaker interjects "since none puts by The curtain I have drawn for youâ⬠¦" In this line, the speaker is saying that he doesn't draw the curtain for just anyone. He has drawn the curtain particularly for his future son-in-law and he should feel privileged because the portrait can only be seen under the speaker's complete control. The Duke believes that he should be shown complete respect and be the center of attention while in his home. The Duke thought his wife should be for him and his pleasures only. He did not like it when Fra Pandolf, the artist who painted the portrait said: "Fra Pandolf chanced to say 'Her mantle laps Over my lady's wrist too much,' or, 'Paint Must never hope to reproduce the faint Half-flush that dies along her throat." to the duchess in lines 16-18. And then again in lines 27-28, the duke tells about how some "officious fool" brought her cherries from the orchard. The duke also could not stand the fact that the duchess treated everyone and every gift equally; "all and each / Would draw from her alike the approving speech, / Or blush, at least" (lines 29-31). The duke thought of his wife as one of his possessions and she could never be treated as his equal; "E'en then would be some stooping; and I choose / Never to stoop" (lines 42-43).

User/system personnel interface in improving system flexibility: Information system has great impact in a every business organization. Information systems flexibility is becoming increasingly important, both research (for example information system, supply chain management, organizational flexibility, research domains) and industry. Rapidly change in the business every organization has given more significance on information systems. Although RTD did not implement information system flexibility and online presence in their business, to develop their business organization they should introduce their information system flexibility in their business. However, the main concept of flexibility in a management disciplines including organization strategy and structured, manufacturing and IT. Every business directly and indirectly depends on information system and companies give primary priority to the information systems. System flexibility develops business efficiency and customer satisfactions. (question1) A service oriented method for system of systems requirements analysis and architecture design: For rapid changes in business environment organization are facing various problems, they may also face the problem of alignment ofà IT with business strategy. In our case study RTD faces lots of problems regarding business strategy. Though they are service oriented company with combination of courier, removals and cattle transportation in a certain locality. They have not got proper information systems also got poor transaction record system, job schedule, vehicles problem are the main business problems. In their business they also face few more problems like payroll problem, poor marketing strategy, invoicing problem, and cash and cheque oriented transactions. This article provides reusable and flexible solution for system requirement modelling and it enables the requirement description of system. It also demonstrates the applicability of the method for the service oriented company. (Question 2) Communication of the association for information system: Every organization should implement information system to operate their business activities. This article describes how a punctuated process model can analyse a specific information system development (ISD). They also focus on information system project which was implemented in a UK retail small medium sized enterprise (SME). A new technology was being applied instead of previous one. Basically information system method can give us a new realistic and valuable way to realize ISD as a social process. By using information system development, RTD can communicate through organizational work as well as information system building process within the organization. Eventually this change in existing organizational routines can play positive impact on RTD. (Question 3) Organizational information system competence in SME: Small medium sized enterprise can play vital role in the global economy. In every SME, they need information system to enhance their business activities. There are some associates with business advantages, Information system planning, acquiring IS knowledge and describing its requirements, software and hardware sourcing, develop the application and tools and finally maintain the relationship between IS and suppliers. There are various new frameworks which can help RTD to develop their operational activities. Macro-competence (business and strategic thinking) help them to get rid of their previous problem. This model can develop businessà opportunities from current and emerging hardware and software applications. It can also help to established appropriate criteria for decision making on IS investment. It can integrated with IS plan with business strategy. (Question 8) Competitive advantages and strategic Information system: In the time of modern technology, business organization needed useful system for existing in global business. They should implement different types of information system for their business. In this article they provide us different information system which can really help to achieve competitive advantages. Those systems are as follows: Decision support systems (DSS): that helps to build strategic approach to manage Information system/ information technology with an organizational business planning. Primarily Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP): which can integrate between enterprise objectives and enterprise resources. Data base system: is ââ¬Å"data miningâ⬠which can help to gather the information for marketing, production, promotion and the innovation for the business organization. Real time Information systems: that intended to maintain a rapid response and the quality indicators. (Question 5) Information System Strategy; Re conceptualization, Measurement and Implications: According to Davis (2000) the information systems of an organization consist of the information technology infrastructure, data, application systems, and personnel that employ IT to deliver information and communications services in an organization .Thus the Concept of IS combines both the technical components and Human activities within the organization as well as describes the process of managing the life cycle of organizational IS Practices (Avgerou and McGrath 2007). In this article they focused on new typology that operationallized is strategy in a way that can apply in a holistic sense to the organization. They also describe different definition of strategy in their extended strategic management literature and finalizing of information system strategy. RTD can use centric view of IS strategy may resolve these outlined issues. (Question 4) Conclusions: In conclusion RTD face various problems when they started their business.à There is no alternative without using information system in a business organization. Nowadays, the business environment change rapidly because of globalization. Every company should keep their information up to date for exist in this competitive market. However, they can collect data from internet about competitors. Eventually an organization like RTD can do the best in the market. Recommendations: There are some recommendations RTD can apply for their current situation, for example collaboration and communication, intranet and extranet, different marketing strategy. RTD has some problems to solve these they should first identify their business requirements with information system requirements. Models of Collaboration as the Foundation for Collaboration Technologies: Collaboration is very useful in every organization. According to this article ââ¬Å"collaboration technologies would be more effective and more readily adopted and accepted if collaboration technology development were guided by models of collaboration. Model construction plays an important role in software development today; software developers construct, for example, data models and object modelsâ⬠. This method has no complexity. Most of the organization uses this model for their organization. The authors described four type of collaboration model. Those are as follows: 1) UML (universal modeling language), 2) work flow Modeling, 3) coordination theory model, 4) Goal, objectives, methods, and Selection (GOMS). Here, RTD can use the GOMS model, as they are doing repetitive job like transporting, and courier service for their local clients. Different human teams differed substantially in the ways they interacted and communicated. The GOMS model described how the tasks were intended to be done, but actual behavior deviated widely from this ostensive model. The Internet and DSS: massive, real-time data availability is changing the DSS landscape: The Internet can serve as a source of massive, micro-level data. In the article they discuss about the opportunity and challenges in capturing and utilizing real-time data off the Internet, intranets, or extranets. In the modern technology The Internet and company intranets and extranets increasingly provide the opportunity for a firm to obtain repeated observation of individual choices and actions. Firms now often have access to the information necessary to track the ââ¬Ëââ¬Ëprogression to transactionââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢. This abundance or rush of real time information poses significant opportunities and challenges for DSS development and implementation.RTD has to apply this technology for their business. According to Bapna et al. (2006) the role of Internet data in developing and testing new theories and patterns of individual behavior and market performance. They focused on how such abundance of real-time data offers new horizons for DSS development and continual recalibration. However, they also described the emergence of DSS internetââ¬â¢s data rich environments and B2B system with supply chain management. Systematic and Common Chemical Names
Systematic and Common Chemical Names There are many ways to name a chemical. Here is a look at the difference between different types of chemical names, including systematic names, common names, vernacular names and CAS numbers. Systematic or IUPAC Name The systematic nameà also called the IUPAC name is the preferred way to name a chemical because each systematic name identifies exactly one chemical. The systematic name is determined by guidelines set forth by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). Common Name A common name is defined by the IUPAC as a name that unambiguously defines a chemical, yet does not follow the current systematic naming convention. An example of a common name is acetone, which has the systematic name 2-propanone. Vernacular Name A vernacular name is a name used in a lab, trade or industry that does not unambiguously describe a single chemical. For example, copper sulfate is a vernacular name which may refer to copper(I) sulfate or copper(II) sulfate. Archaic Name An archaic name is an older name for a chemical that predates the modern naming conventions. Its helpful to know archaic names of chemicals because older texts may refer to chemicals by these names. Some chemicals are sold under archaic names or may be found in storage labeled with the older names. An example of this is muriatic acid, which is the archaic name for hydrochloric acid and is one of the names under which hydrochloric acid is sold. CAS Number A CAS number is an unambiguous identifier assigned to a chemical by the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), a part of the American Chemical Society. CAS numbers are assigned sequentially, so you cant tell anything about the chemical by its number. Each CAS number consists of three strings of numbers that are separated by hyphens. The first number contains up to six digits, the second number is two digits, and the third number is a single digit. Other Chemical Identifiers Although the chemical names and CAS Number are the most common way to describe a chemical, there are other chemical identifiers you may encounter. Examples include numbers assigned by PubChem, ChemSpider, UNII, EC number, KEGG, ChEBI, ChEMBL, RTES number and the ATC code. Example of Chemical Names Putting it all together, here are the names for CuSO4à ·5H2O: Systematic (IUPAC) Name: copper(II) sulfate pentahydrateCommon Names: copper(II) sulfate, copper(II) sulfate, cupric sulfate, cupric sulfateVernacular Name: copper sulfate, copper sulfateArchaic Name: blue vitriol, bluestone, copper vitriolCAS Number: 7758-99-8
